The Orangery Restaurant

about the gardens | tour of the gardens | the garden shop | the orangery restaurant | events | Hampton Court history | contact

The large conservatory adjoining the castle has been refurbished to accommodate the Orangery Restaurant.

The conservatory was designed by Joseph Paxton in 1846, six years before he went on to design Crystal Palace for the Great Exhibition. Sadly his extraordinary "ridge and furrow" roof collapsed in the early 1900's.

The Orangery Restaurant has been designed in a contemporary manner by a locally based design company, GeorgiGregg.

The Orangery Restaurant serves delicious food and drink that is organic wherever possible. Much of this is fresh from our kitchen garden and otherwise from local producers and suppliers.

In 2001 the Orangery Restaurant was voted no. 7 in the Independent's '50 Best places for afternoon tea' survey.
