About Hampton Court

about Hampton Court | Hampton Court history

Hampton Court is a late medieval fortified manor house with picturesque facades that make it the epitome of a fairy tale castle. Brisling with battlements it stands within 1000 acres, on the meadows of the river Lugg.

The castle has been restored and sympathetically refurbished to reflect its rich and varied history. The castle is available for residential seminars, meetings and weddings.

Surrounding the castle are the stunning new gardens ambitiously conceived and meticulously executed. They are considered to be one of the most ambitious garden creations of our time.

The craftsmen in the Estate Workshops have undertaken the majority of the restoration work on the castle and built all the garden structures and follies in the grounds. They continue to work in all areas of the estate.

Hampton Court is running one of the largest Countryside Stewardship Schemes in the Marches, the gardens are managed organically and all building works are undertaken with environmental concerns in mind.
